Inflation Indexed National Saving Securities - Cumulative (IINSS-C)

What is Inflation Indexed National Saving Securities - Cumulative (IINSS-C)?

These securities will have two parts:
  • Fixed interest of 1.5% per annum
  • Second is the inflation rate
  • If the inflation rate for the first 6 months is 8%, then the interest will  be 8% + .75% (fixed for six months) = 8.75%
Interest will be paid with principal on maturity.

Maturity is 10 years after investment.

Where and how to open these securities?
  • The authorized banks are SBI (and its associates), HDFC bank, Axis, ICICI and nationalized banks.
  • One can apply via banks or via SHCIL (Stock holding corporation of India)
  • Once opened, RBI will register the investor on its platform and generate the certificate of holding.
Joint holding allowed?  Yes

Minimum and Maximum investment limit? Min - 5000 and max 10L per annum (for individuals)

Taxable? Yes. But no TDS at the moment.
